Reportedly, an “industry-first” textile printing process was used in the manufacture of the shoe, which featured the latest Futurecraft insoles from Carbon. Most recently, Carbon and adidas’ partnership saw the launch of what they described as the “ultimate” 3D printed running shoe, the Futurecraft ‘STRUNG’. A few months later, adidas released a new version of the AlphaEdge 4D 3D printed shoe in two colors: Core Black Carbon and White Carbon. The firms also partnered with British fashion designer Stella McCartney in 2019 to create a limited edition model of the AlphaEdge 4D shoe, named the Stella McCartney x adidas AlphaEdge 4D. Since then, the two companies have continued their partnership, launching the AlphaEdge 4D LTD running shoe with 3D printed midsoles in February 2018.
